Day 1: Cochin to Munnar.
Meet our representative at Cochin airport or railway station and drive to Munnar, about 4 to 5 hours. Stop at Chiyyappara and Valara waterfalls on the way. Check in and keep the evening free. Carry snacks for the drive.
Day 2: Munnar sightseeing.
Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake, Echo Point and Shooting Point with tea-garden views. Visit Eravikulam National Park to see the Nilgiri Tahr, subject to park availability. Children enjoy Echo Point and the open green spaces.
Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady.
Drive about 3 to 4 hours. In the afternoon, visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. A boat ride on Periyar Lake is optional and paid directly.
Day 4: Thekkady sightseeing.
Visit a spice plantation to see pepper, cardamom and cinnamon growing, and shop for spices. A Kalaripayattu show and an elephant safari are optional extras, so confirm age limits before you book.
Day 5: Thekkady to Varkala.
This is the longest drive of the trip, about 5 to 6 hours, so plan breaks. In the evening, watch the sunset from Varkala Beach and its cliffs.
Day 6: Jatayu Earth Center.
Visit the world’s largest bird sculpture, with viewpoints and adventure activities. Check age and height limits for activities. Return to Varkala in the evening.
Day 7: Varkala to Kovalam.
